The 2018–19 season of the ATSX Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship, the World Championship of Ice Cross Downhill, a competition that incorporates elements of ice hockey, downhill skiing, and snowboard cross. The opening round will be held for the first time in Japan from December 7th (Friday) to 8th (Saturday) at Rinko Park in Yokohama City.
Red Bull Crashed Ice is a race in which athletes wearing ice hockey protectors reach a maximum speed of 80 km / h, and slide down a special ice course of up to about 600 meters with elevation differences set up in the city all at once.
The race is held with 4 riders per heat, and the sight of the riders running at breakneck speed while dodging obstacles such as hairpin curves, bank corners, continuous bumps and steps along the course is spectacular. First held in 2001, it became a world championship in 2010, and has held 49 tournaments so far.
And it has been decided that the memorable 50th tournament will be held for the first time in Japan in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
