This is a celebration of Philippine culture in Tokyo.
There are over 30,000 Filipinos living and working in Tokyo, and this significant population gives the Philippine Festival a great local atmosphere. Starting things off was the Saukra Fashion Show, showcasing talented Filipino designers along with a variety of other performances on the main stage with the announcements made in a mix of English and Tagalog to a largely Filipino audience.
At the other end of the event area you’ll find a long strip of booth selling traditional food such as lechon and adobo and of course, San Miguel beer. There were also plenty of other booths offering tourism travel information, real estate options as well as money remittance services, for all the Filippinos living/working here in Japan to send money back home to their families.
