What is S2O JAPAN SONGKRAN MUSIC FESTIVAL?
The Japanese version of the dance music festival “S2O SONGKRAN MUSIC FESTIVAL (hereinafter S2O)” is known as “the world’s most soaking music festival” that is a collaboration between the Thai Songkran water festival and music. Like the original “S2O” in Thailand, the stage set is reminiscent of a “huge water factory” with a motif of huge water tanks and suction pipes, and S2O’s unique water-throwing machine has also been brought over from Thailand, so you can experience dance music while being splashed with water as water pours down from all sides. The first event was held in 2018, and together with the 2019 event, it has attracted a total of 65,000 people over the two years. And in 2024, it has been decided that it will be held for the first time in five years! “S2O JAPAN 2024” will be held in the Odaiba R district on Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th, with a more powerful return.
During Songkran, the Thai New Year, water festivals are held all over the city, and S2O will be held during this period. Since the first event in 2015, tickets have been sold out every year, and many participants come to Bangkok from overseas just for this festival. Following Japan, which was the first overseas event, the number of locations where the festival is held has increased year by year, including Hong Kong, Seoul, Taiwan, Vietnam, and New York, and the festival is attracting attention from around the world.
