August 19th, 2012 - The Pokka 1000 Super GT came to Suzuka for the 5th round of the championship series. This year's race distance was put back to 1000km(first time in 4years) since it was trimmed from 700 km to 500 km. In addition, this race was only run in day sessions, but still anything could have happened between the green light and the checkered flag. Come rain or shine... the show must go on -> the weather was a bit wet & rainy early in the morning, but by 8:00am the weather was perfectly clear, making way for a very hot afternoon at the race! This year, I was working out of the media center and had unrestricted access to the entire track(except the pit lane during the race) and walk through the teams garages get really up close to the cars! What kind of race event in Japan would be complete without some delectable female eye candy there to spice things up and add quality... I didn't have to push/shove with the 'amateur camera boys' and was able to see all the team's girls decked out in their sponsor's outfits in the sponsor's areas for the fans!
